MENTORING

In the last 17 years of shooting weddings we’ve learned a lot. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since we started.

We Want To Show You / our WORLD

We know what it’s like to start out fresh on the photography scene. There’s so much unknown and so much to learn. We’ve been through it all, ups and downs. We’ve have the pleasure of working alongside amazing clients and have also dealt with the odd tricky bride as well.

We’ve at times thoroughly loved this line of work and other times been ready to pack it all in. We’ve finally come to a place where we’re happy with our style, our clients and our price range.

We want to inspire others with our work, we want to encourage and help people who are maybe at a place where we’ve been before. We’ve built up so much experience in this field and feel it’s now time to share it with others.

We love meeting new people and we love crafting more of our art. More than that we love helping and if we can help you in your photography journey we certainly will.

We don’t want to be photographers who hold back on information, we are honest people and want to share what we know. We want you to be able to ask us anything and we will be open to sharing all.

If you are just starting out, stuck in a rut or are just at a place where you need inspiration, drop us an email and let us know how we can help!

      Photography Workshop Louisiana

What to look for in Photography Workshop Louisiana

A good rule of thumb for all Photography Workshop Louisiana shoots is to aim for 60% “Portrait Images” and 40% “Detail Images.” For all “Portrait” shoots a good rule of thumb is to aim for 75% “Portrait Images” and 25% “Detail Images.” This means if you go out and shoot an engagement session and end up with 40 final images, 30 of them should be “Portrait Images” and 10 of them should be “Detail Images.” If you go out and shoot a styled bridal shoot and end up with 120 images, 72 of them should be “Portrait Images” and 48 should be “Detail Images.”

What not to do in a Photography Workshop Louisiana

Now obviously you don’t have to aim for these exact numbers every time, and they will vary depending on how many details are set up, but they are just a good standard to aim for to make sure you have everything you need to create a strong submission. Let’s take today to focus on the “Portrait Images.” Portrait Images A portrait image is any image where some part of a person is visible. It doesn’t matter if the image is of a bride holding her bouquet, cropped from the neck line down. I would still consider this as a Photography Workshop Louisiana falling under the category of being a portrait image. The number one thing I like to teach, and also what I see lacking in submissions, is variation in portraits. I truly believe there are five kinds of categories for all portrait images all photographers should push themselves to capture for any submission.
