      LOOM

“When we eliminate the need to control, what do we see? What can we capture?” The first time we heard Ginny Au say those words it changed our lives. It’s an amazing feeling for both our clients and us each and every time. Then, we build a space for you to move freely in. Guided by our suggestions we watch the events unfold. We don’t interact or interrupt, just document the natural you.LEARN ABOUT LOOM

The Way We See / the WORLD Lake Charles Wedding Photographer, videographer, cinematographer
Loom is the name given to this style of shooting. Because, it represents the natural and organic way we capture our images. Beaumont.

It’s designed to take the awkwardness out of posing and allows a true representation of how our clients feel and communicate, not just what they look like. So, It completely takes all pressure off you by letting you move freely with no expectations on what you “should” do.

Then, we find what the couple enjoys doing together. As a result we base the shoots around that. We place them in the middle of a thought out a scene and let them interact with each other naturally. Lake Charles Wedding Photographer, videographer, cinematographer

Portrait Details Lake Charles wedding photographer, videographer, cinematographer Portrait Beaumont.

This would be any type of image where you cannot see the eyes of the subject or the image is focused on a detail or prop. Examples of this type of shot would be an up-close capture of a subject’s earrings, an image of a bride holding her bouquet, a shot of a girl laying on her fiancé (cropped from the lips down). Again, any shot where no eyes are seen or the focus is on a detail falls under this subcategory.

      Emotions on the wedding day

When most people think of a portrait they either think of smiling or serious, so these are the most common shots submitted. As a result I am not saying there is anything wrong with these types of shots, since there is a reason they are so common. I am saying a curator is not going to want to see 40 images of one facial expression, or just two for that matter. We want to see a variety. We want to see smiling, serious, giggly, smirking, mysterious, head thrown back laughing, etc. There are so many emotions that can be captured on the human face, so why stick to just two?

      Movement

Images with movement have to be some of my all time favorites. They are also the types of images that can add so much variation and uniqueness to a shoot, yet I rarely see them. I would define a movement shot as one that is captured of either a 3/4th body, full body, or far away portrait where the subject is not standing still and the movement is obvious.

This can include running, twirling, jumping into someone’s arms, spinning around, playing with hair, ruffling a dress with hands, etc. There is so much possibility to these types of shots, so get creative with them! As a result these types of shots not only add a unique touch to your submission, they also add feeling and life. You can feel a story being told and unfolded in the images. It truly is something that can draw a curator in.
